Born and raised in Ahmedabad, Girish Modi graduated from L. D. Engineering College in 1963. He then went to London and worked and studied there until May 1968 when he immigrated to Boston after receiving a job offer from a well known Engineering company. He worked for over 35 years on various nuclear power plant projects as well as an environmental engineer.

In January 2010 Girish moved to Atlanta area and revived his passion for music, photography, videography, computers, reading and writing. His bylined articles about concerts have been published in several magazines and on websites.  Girish recently has established a gift giving trust and has donated money to various non-profit organizations that promote Indian performing arts.
