The Hindu Temple of Atlanta in Riverdale celebrated Lord Shiva on November 13th and as a part of celebration presented variety of devotional dances in honor of Lord Nataraja, choreographed and coordinated by well known Bharatnatyam dance teacher Sujaya Dixit. Sujaya is a devotee of Lord Nataraja and has presented annual dance programs every year for the past ten years.

Kalaivani Dance & Music Academy presented a unique and sensational dance drama called "Sense Beyond" on Friday November 11, 2011 at the prestigious Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta. It was a visual feast embellished with colorful costumes representative of five most popular classical dance styles -- Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Mohiniattam and Odissi. Never before such an extravagant dance performance was presented by anyone.

On Tuesday August 23, 2011at 4 pm an overwhelming crowd of 500+, friends, acquaintances and family members many of who came from out-of-town bid farewell to a well-respected community member in Greater Atlanta area at the Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. They had gathered not to express their sorrow by shedding tears, but to celebrate his life that was full of zest and vigor.

The years from 1947 to 1980 is considered to be the golden era for Hindi Film music, because there were great singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Geeta Dutt, Mukesh, Hemant Kumar, Manna Dey and Kishore Kumar who were in their prime. Their songs are the evergreen songs and are hummed and sung by millions of people all over the world till this day.
